Patience…Patience

After selling two pieces of etched copper to Margaretha yesterday, I could not wait to get in the studio after work last night. I had a new resist design in my head…but decided to test it in a small version first.

When I took it out of ‘soup’ this morning, I was soooooooooooo disappointed. The vision I had certainly did not come any where close to the piece of metal I was holding in my hand. I was ready to discard it, until I remembered wise words from Tory Hughes…take your design to the finished product before you make any decisions. So I pickled, sanded and torched…and WOW!!! There was absolutely no resemblance to the boring piece of metal that I pulled out of the etching bath this morning.
