Late to the Party

For several years I’ve been hearing a great deal about Pardo Translucent. Since I have POUNDS of translucent from several manufacturers, I didn’t think I needed to add another ounce of clay to my ‘stash’. WAS I EVER WRONG!!!

I finally had the opportunity to test the translucence using the transfer technique that I stumbled upon several years ago. (You can find my article in a very old Polymer Cafe from 2008 or 2009) I am amazed at the subtle depth of color that Pardo gives the design in comparison to my old favorite…Kato.

You may not be able to see the difference in the photos, but the Pardo (on the left) deepens the rich colors of the transferred photograph. I know they are transfers, but the casual observer would never be able to identify what the surface design is.

BTW…the photo is actually a ‘work in progress’ photo of a technique I was test driving!!!
