Old Work in Transition

Paisley & Frey Wille

I have been woefully lax in posting for the last two months…but…I have a terrific excuse. I have been working in the studio in preparation for what turned out to be a very successful show, and several commissions that followed the show.

What I have been working on this week is some new work that will submitted for a juried show at a local gallery. The overall design of the necklace is not new…the disk necklace with hidden closure, but the designs on the disks are exclusive to this installation.

The paisley and watercolor disks are a new technique that has proven to be a bit problematic…but hopefully, the ‘crash and burn’ steps are in the past.

The Frey Wille disks are an example of translating the design from another medium to polymer. While not perfect, I hope they convey the spirit of Frey Wille and his colorful enamel jewelry.
